Evan serves as the Stated Supply and Pastor-Elect of Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church until his ordination. He is a Chattanooga native, and he attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he earned a B.A. in Religion and a B.A. in Philosophy. While at UTC, Evan was part of the Christian fraternity Beta Upsilon Chi. Through leading small groups in his fraternity and being discipled by his pastor, Evan felt the internal call to ministry. He received his Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary Charlotte. While pursuing his MDiv, Evan served as a pastoral intern at a number of churches. Before taking the call to serve at Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church, he was volunteering at a local church and serving as a substitute teacher. Currently, he is a Ph.D. Student in Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he hopes to learn how to better shepherd and care for the sheep entrusted to him.
Evan is married to his beautiful wife Macy, who is an ENL teacher in Hamilton County.
Stephanie Bowling serves as the Music Director at Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church, where she coordinates Sunday music and leads the choir, handbells, and other special music. Having served churches in music ministry for more than 17 years, Stephanie is passionate about using music to serve the Lord and His people with gladness.
Born and raised in Chattanooga in a family with a deep love for both Christ and music, Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She graduated with Latin honors and was recognized by the Music Department as an Outstanding Senior. Following college, she toured with the Glenn Draper Singers on their East Coast Christmas tour, which included the privilege of singing at the White House in Washington, D.C.
Stephanie has continued her musical education through the Kodály Institute at UTC and conferences of the American Choral Directors Association and Tennessee Music Education Association, as well as the Getty Sing! Conference. She taught general music, choir, and handbells at a local private school for five years before stepping into what she considers her true “dream job”: homeschooling her daughters and caring for her family as a homemaker.
Outside of music ministry, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband, Noah, and their four daughters, machine embroidery, writing music, running, theological discussions, and time with friends.
